Source material for designs varies tremendously from the work of artists such as Hundertwasser, Klimt and Klee to celtic patterning and illuminated manuscripts or simply my garden. Hand dyed fabrics - I always start with raw undyed fabrics direct from the mill. I use a myriad of materials as each takes dye in a different way. Working with my dyed and prepared fabrics using my trusty Bernina. The colours, forms and textures in nature are the influences of my work. I live in North Yorkshire and am fascinated by the colours of the sea, the dramatic topography of the moors and the ever changing sky.
